Technical Problems With Daz Studio |
Sunday, February 17, 2008 |
This page was delayed because of technical problems with Daz Studio and a 3D model I bought to use for the new character I introduce today. But that model does not play well with Daz Studio. Daz Studio is somewhat of a weak clone for Poser. So many models are designed for Poser and will not play well in Daz Studio (difference in render engines, etc). The only thing that Daz Studio has over Poser at this stage is the ease of use. Poser is just not user friendly.
Suffice it to say that I tried to use the model but it kept taking my renders to well over 5 hours and sometimes crashing, and when it did finally rendered fine the mats (skin) didn't look right. These frames usually don't take more than two hours to render, the average is 45-minutes, so I knew something was not right. At first I thought it was the hair, it wasn't, then I thought it was the shadows, it wasn't, what was left was the model and when I replaced her with the one I finally decided to use the render times came down considerably. I really wanted to use that other model because she looks psychotically menacingly, but that's life. |
